CFAN3 Summit, 24 April 2007

The CFAN3 Summit, held on April 24th 2007 Jakarta and was attended by over 250 people, including Minister of Finance, Sri Muliyani Indrawati and Minister Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, Director of the BRR.

At the one-day meeting, Ambassadors, Heads of Agencies and Government made statements related to progress and next steps in the reconstruction process of Aceh and Nias. The BRR then presented an overview of reconstruction progress at the half-way point of its 4 year mandate. This was followed by a pane discussion consisting of representatives of all stakeholders groups, tackling the critical issues as highlighted by the CFAN3 Technical Meeting, such as Communicating with Beneficiaries, Equity, Coordination and Transition from reconstruction to long-term development. After the panel discussion, participants separated into breakout groups to discussion the 3 sectors of focus for CFAN3 – Housing & Settlements, Economic Development and Infrastructure. The 3 breakout groups then reported their discussions during a final plenary session. The meeting closed with a Closing Statement from Dr. Mangkusubroto.
